The Hoxton, Charlottenburg (Berlin) - Host/Hostess (m/f/d)

2023 sees The Hoxton take on Europe! We’re popping up in some of our favourite cities and we’ve opened our first hotel in Germany in the city of culture and creativity, Berlin. We are now looking for a Host/Hostess to join our team in House of Tandoor.

Our first Hoxton in Germany is home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor restaurant and bar, coffee bar and streetside terrace and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept. Our restaurant is the meeting of a North Indian communal eatery and a classic European cuisine. It brings together the characteristics of these two traditional restaurants - the tandoor ovens, Indian spices and marinades, select prime cuts of meat, and buzzing atmosphere.

Reporting to our Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for serving the guests and make sure they will have a great time.

Job Description

What you'll do...

You're the first face our guests see, and you have your own way of treating them as individuals, making them feel welcome and their stay special - the Hox way.
Deal with the coming and going of guests, making sure all bills are correct and contain no surprises.
Work with all our teams to make sure we're always busy and help our Restaurant and Events team with any individual and group bookings.
Answer phones, sort out requests, give recommendations - you're the one-stop-shop for our guests to turn to.
Support our Waiters and Waitresses team by jumping into service duties during rush hours and/or any time they would need.
With the help of the F&B department, handle the events taking place in our 3 different spaces, from welcoming the guests to the billing part.
Directly refer to the sales department for coordinating events, optimizing processes, and enhancing communication.
Anticipate needs and proactively provide solutions so that our guests’ expectations are not only met, but exceeded.

Qualifications

You are flexible to work on rotative shifts and on weekends.
It's all about attitude for us, someone who enjoys being helpful to others; that person who makes you feel confident they can answer any question and who you'd want to stop and chat to.
Passion for hospitality – you’re all about creating memorable experiences for others, be they guests or colleagues.
Fluent in English, good German knowledge, additional languages will be highly valuable.
You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
A people person, great at building and nurturing long lasting relationships.
You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits here.
You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get stuff done.
