October 31, 2024 min read

International Women’s day is widely celebrated across Europe. It is a day dedicated to appreciating and celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Over the last decade, women have come a long way in terms of workplace equality and we are happy to enforce this girl-power attitude here at Europe Language Jobs.

Some of you may already be fortunate enough to work for a company or in a country that enforces workplace equality, but unfortunately for others, this isn’t the case. Thankfully, there are so many countries that you can to relocate to where the power of women is praised and celebrated and gender equality has become the complete norm.

These are the top 5 European countries for women workforce equality. Is your country on the list?

5.  Iceland

Iceland has been branded as the fairest country in the world and we can see why. Iceland works hard year after year towards fair education, workplace equality and more. Iceland is always near the top of the list. Want to live in Iceland? Check out the jobs in Iceland

4. Lithuania

Lithuania has shown great commitment to gender equality both socially and in the workplace. In previous years, Lithuania was one of the countries with the largest percentage of salary gap but in recent years it has become significantly closer to equality. Want to move to Lithuania? Check out the jobs in Lithuania now.

3.  The United Kingdom

The United Kingdom has been a leading country for gender equality for quite some years and still remains in the top 3 European countries. Unfortunately, the United Kingdom has fallen 6 places in the global ranking so they still have some work to do. Discover the opportunities in the United Kingdom.

 2.  Bosnia

Bosnia has come along way over the past few years. Previously deemed as the worst place in Europe to be a woman, but thankfully Bosnia has overcome this sexist and unfair image and now stands tall at number 2.

1. Spain

Spain is the number one place for women’s workforce equality. In 2018, Spain had the highest number of female ministers. This remarkable achievement encouraged women of all ages to stand up for their rights and now, Spain sits comfortably at the top for European countries. Check out the jobs in Spain.
