Korean PhD Subject Matter Experts

Welo Data is building a talent pipeline of PhD-level experts in South Korea in anticipation of upcoming work with a major AI client. This is not a role starting immediately — it's an early call for experts so we're ready to move the moment the project is confirmed. Location: Remote in Korea

Compensation: US$60/hour, paid for confirmed project work once it begins.

Engagement type: Freelance / Independent Contractor

Status: Building talent pipeline for upcoming project — not an immediate start

Once confirmed, selected experts will help train and evaluate AI models by:

• Writing, reviewing, and grading responses within their field of expertise

• Assessing AI-generated outputs for accuracy, reasoning, and nuance

• Providing structured, actionable feedback to improve model performance

• Applying doctoral-level judgment to specialized, real-world tasks

• Priority consideration when this (and future) projects open

• Flexible, remote, project-based work well suited to researchers and academics

• Meaningful work applying your expertise to real AI systems

• A completed PhD (or ABD near completion) in one of the following fields:

o Social & Behavioral Science (psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science, economics, etc.)

o Humanities (history, philosophy, religious studies, area studies, etc.)

o Arts (art history, performance studies, music, media & cultural studies, etc.)

o Language & Linguistics (Korean language, translation studies, applied linguistics, literature, etc.)

• Native or professional fluency in Korean

• Strong writing and reasoning skills — able to explain nuanced ideas clearly

• Comfort working independently in a remote, deadline-driven setting
